A photographic column exploring my life in Berlin, Germany and the inner conflicts of being a dual-citizen.
2017 – ongoing
Die andere Seite, German for “The other Side”, orginally started as an assignment for the weekend edition of the taz. die tageszeitung newspaper. Once a week a single image with a short text would appear as a photographic column on the last page of the issue.
In this quite challenging but highly interesting format I decided to explore my life in Berlin and the fact that I have a dual-citizenship. Although I’ve lived in Germany mostly, there is a deep desire inside of me wanting to travel to the USA and spend time there. The election of Trump has been challenging for my relationship with America, but even under the worst president ever, I will have to return some time soon.
